In recent years, there has been very little documentation of current strawberry production practices followed by growers of the Commonwealth. In 2016, an in-class needs assessment survey was conducted at three different strawberry grower meetings in Virginia using an interactive polling software system (Turning Technologies, Youngstown, Ohio). To our knowledge, this is the first survey conducted to assess strawberry production practices of commercial growers in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The objective of the survey was to ascertain certain strawberry production practices in Virginia and to determine grower needs for research and outreach.
